it was a cooling day today becos of the showers earlier in the afternoon. we have already planned the day before to take the grand canyon railway since it is free for employees. it was a historic ride across a century-old rail line through part of the largest ponderosa pine forest in the world. it is a narrated and informative 90 min round trip journey departs daily at 5.30pm.

the ride was slight bumpy but was comfortable enough for us to fall asleep. there was nothing much but it was a relaxed experience. they used the 1923 pullman cars which is used for the movie polar express! amazing

the train stopped halfway through before connecting the engine to the other side of the train. the train's horn is very loud and it's used to warn vehicles of its presence when approaching roads. this must be one of the oldest mode of transport.

i like it! don't feel like going home =P

just came back from las vegas the 2nd time. this time the focus was on the touring of the hotels and not shopping. in las vegas, the 2 famous area is the strip where all most of the hotels are and downtown where is the fremont street is located at. the fremont is famous for having a super large screen on the ceiling where they have shows every hour everyday.

and also each hotel on the strip has its individual and unique attraction becos each hotel is modelled under different themes. for example, the new york new york hotel interior design is very much similar to the state or new york. it's really nice in las veas but the only thing bad is that the weather is really hot. other than that, i've no complains.

AND this is the 1st time in my life waiting for a public bus for 3 hours! it's really ridiculous becos it's supposed to come every 20 mins and the stop is at the famous premium shopping outlet. the cabs were driving around the bus stop and was waiting for the people at the bus stop to take them becos cabs are really expensive there. in the end, it still did not come and we had to take the bus that is going to other direction. it's a unique experience though (:

counting down the days back to singapore. shld i be happy or sad?

mamma mia show tickets

buffets, buffets and more buffets!

hello kitty shop!

there was a electrical blackout yesterday, the whole town plus neighbouring towns are affected. the situation was pretty chaotic but excited. it certainly add a tinge of excitment to our life in states. the problem was fixed pretty fast in about 3 hours time to our disappointment.

we'll be going las vegas again but this time focus will be visiting the hotels, the free shows offered and not shopping. pretty excited about it even though this is the 2nd time in like 3 weeks.

I MISS CHICKEN RICE! sian....

las vegas is really a great place. it's the most beautiful in the night when all the neon lights on the street are all switched off. man made beauty can be equally as nice as mother's nature beauty too. las vegas is well known for being a casino city but the hotels are equally as well known too. each hotel has a different theme and it is really fantastic replica of whatever theme they are. besides the decorations, the activities within the hotel enhances the theme too. it's really really interesting and amazing.

they have a M&M world there and it's really interesting. there's of course chocolates and lots of merchandise of the famous chocolates. they have all the colours in their m&m chocolates, u name it, they have it. they sell the chocolates by the weight even though they have those in packets. they even have a museum and a 3D movie too....really really great! wish singapore have places like that too.

BUT it's really hot there. i thought singapore is the hottest city but las vegas proves me wrong. it's similar to being an oven becos even the wind is hot and most of the time i rather that there will be no wind lol. besides this, everything is perfect to the extent we are planning another trip there again. i recommend everyone to go there at least once in their lifetime!

and i lost $5 in the 1 penny slots machines but it's fun though =P
